AWHONN Convention Time to GET READY!
This week, I am getting ready for the 2016 AWHONN Convention that will be held in Grapevine Texas! Why is that exciting? The Association of Women's Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses is my organization! I am one of the chapter leaders for the state of Florida. AWHONN is our national organization that supports all things evidence based for nurses taking care of women and neonates. I have been a member since 1999 and I try to go to the national convention as many times as I can. Why? Because at these conventions I get to be around nurse leaders from all around the country and learn about the latest and greatest for my profession. It recharges my batteries and makes me feel like I can do anything when I get home with my amazing team.
This year, TEXAS! Grapevine Texas~ Get ready, you are going to get a thousand or more passionate nurses coming your way! TEXAS! Where I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington. TEXAS! Where I will meet up with some of my favorite on line friends from across the United States to get a hug and to share a short few days with! More will be coming this week as I get ready to go!
Oh, I forgot! I am also presenting a poster on our Nitrous Oxide program at my health system. Our poster is "Chuckle, Snicker, Giggle During Labor! Putting Nitrous Oxide into Practice". I will be a moderator for one of the sessions, "The Complexities of Breastfeeding Support on the Night Shift".
I just can not wait!!
